The tournament will be in a round robin format, with teams separated into groups. The number of groups will be contingent on the number of teams participating in the tournament. Placement of teams in each group will be determined by a random drawing video that will be sent to all contact e-mails.
At the end of the group stage, the best eight teams (or top two from each group) will progress to a single-elimination, knockout round, ranked from 1-8 based on their performance during the group stage. In the case of a tie to qualify to the knockout stage or determine seedings, the best score differential will rule.
Scheduling of all games will be done via bondcuptournament@gmail.com to the contact e-mail addresses of each team member. Once the scheduling e-mail is received, all matches need to be completed within one week of the message. Tournament matches will be played any time after 8 p.m. EST, Monday-Sunday. Should anything happen to any of the team members following confirmation of a match time, that responsible team will be allowed one re-schedule to be mutually agreed by the opposing team. Should a second infringement occur, the infringing team will forfeit the match to an 8-0 score line.
After each round, all participants will be blind copied by bondcuptournament@gmail.com with an attached spreadsheet that will show each round’s results, as well as standings. Teams that win a match will receive 3 points, 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss. Axis and Allied scores, in addition to differentials, will be posted as well. Scores of each match will be e-mailed by both teams involved to bondcuptournament@gmail.com to prevent foul play.
